STOP for Schizophrenia 2014

STOP for Schizophrenia 2014

In 2013 supporters of the Institute raised more than $14,000 for schizophrenia research by giving something up for STOP for Schizophrenia. This year, during Schizophrenia Awareness Week, May 18-24, you can join the Bondi Rescue boys and Fitzy & Wippa to help us to reach a new target of $20,000. Just head over to www.stopfor.com.au and register to give up chocolate, alcohol, coffee or whatever you choose for one week. Ask family or friends to support you and help raise money for schizophrenia research.

$20,000 can support a translational research project for a year, which takes what we’ve learned in previous studies and applies them in a setting that allows people to learn life-changing skills, such as cognitive-behavioural techniques to improve some of the symptoms of schizophrenia, or social skills to help participants to re-enter study or the workforce.

Signing up for this year’s STOP campaign will help to improve the life of someone with schizophrenia.

Need one more reason to join STOP? Be one of the first 10 people to register as a STOPper and you and nine of your friends could win a fun day of outdoor paintball in the capital city nearest to you, courtesy of Charity Paintball.
